The words are said, halting, but with complete certainty…with sincerity.
I look at him, doubt in my eyes. “Really?”
There is less certainty now, his eyes flicker a myriad of emotions. “Yes.”
I believe him fully. My doubt was not caused by him, it is mine alone. The silence consumes us. He is unsure, fumbling, twisting, impatient; however he appears calm. Only I see through the smoke screen he projects. He has no reason to be afraid, I will not reject him.

RainIt rained here today.Rain
It rained big, fat drops that hit hard, and then harder, and waned, and then returned in ferocity. By early afternoon the fall leaves sat in large puddles, crushed and bloated like bran cereal left too long in earth coloured bowls. The sidewalks were reduced to deep puddles full of drowning worms, the skies were a dismal shade of grey, and the trees wept gently.
I myself, wept for different reasons entirely.

Today I came to a rather profound conclusion. (Now really this isn’t quite so profound if you think about it, but to me it truly was a revelation.) I realized that God takes you where you are. He doesn’t berate you because you aren’t as advanced as Pastor Joe-Smo or you don’t know as much as you should (or like to think you should). He just works with you where you are at. Isn’t that amazing? It's plain perfect in its simplicity.
